KEEP LA BEAUTIFUL:  Westside!

Please note: We have bumped up the start time since we created the poster.  Registration is 1:30-3pm at City Tavern in Culver City.  Ride departs promptly at 3pm.  Thank you.

We've had several, and we mean several, requests to shuffle over to the Westside, so we thought we'd come check it out.   So, we are excited to use it as the backdrop for Keep LA Beautiful- Part 2.  This ride, unlike September, will be a mellow 9 mile pedal including some bike paths with a few short stops along the way.

Once LA was too crowded and dirty (traffic jams on Downtown streets were common in the 1920's hence the street car movement), more and more locals spread to the outer ranch land that was quickly turning into residential and business areas.  Santa Monica was the first to get settled, followed by Venice, and so on.  Our ride will start in the heart of Culver City at City Tavern and take some gorgeous side streets before connecting onto the Ballona Creek bike path and getting a nice but short tour of Marina del Rey and Venice. All of our stops are outdoor and nature based, keeping with the theme "KEEP LA BEAUTIFUL".  Some history as well.  We will end on the deck of Tony P's in Marina del Rey for beers and bites.  Depart anytime you wish.  Ride costs $10 for non-members and includes a limited edition patch and 2 complimentary New Belgium beers.

We know that some of you may need to pedal back to Culver City after the ride ends, so here is a suggested bike route that is a pretty easy and direct.  We'll also make an announcement to see who is riding back, so you can gather with other riders for that journey.  Cheers!
