Route 66, the heart of LA
The band is getting back together on Sunday, Nov. 13 in collaboration with the International Route 66 Festival. On our last ride, we pedaled the Eastern section of Route 66 from Pasadena to Arcadia, and this time we'll ride a 15.5 mile loop from Silverlake to West Hollywood. This flat route meanders through the arts and culture scene of Hollywood and lands us on the Mother Road a/k/a Santa Monica Blvd. in the heart of West Hollywood. Modern city living chipped away at the historic core of Route 66 after it was dismantled in 1985, and little remains of the original car route. We've curated a collection of stops including Hollywood Forever Cemetery and the Formosa Cafe with some sprinkles of Hollywood glamour.
