We are a collection of local cyclists who think LA is a rad place to live, bike and explore. When your weekend afternoon is calling for some wind in your hair and sun on your face, we hope that you’ll join us for a local bicycle adventure. We use the mysteries, streets and stories of Los Angeles as a good excuse to ride bikes, hang out and learn about our city. We thoughtfully build each tour putting in hours of research and route planning. We want everyone to feel welcome and comfortable on our rides. All races, genders and affiliations welcome!

Due to the topography and weather of Los Angeles, some of our routes are more difficult than others. When we announce a tour, we will give route details outlining mileage and elevation as well as our best guess at what skill level and type of bicycle will perform comfortably on the route. Heat can also impact the rides, so keep this in mind when you join us. Riders ride at their own risk and must be self-supported (BYO-water, snacks, etc.). Feel free to always reach out with questions!

Since Covid-19 has postponed our group tours until further notice, we are creating a series of new, self-guided tours now available on our website here. Our first self-guided tour, ‘Daily Life in Early LA’, is a 14-mile round-trip journey through Downtown LA in partnership with Picturing Mexican America. Our hope is to share some of LA’s important history that isn’t often told in classrooms or textbooks.

On this Juneteenth, we want to share our commitment to the Los Angeles Community to do our part in sharing diverse stories that represent people of black backgrounds. Our great city is a woven framework of different cultures, races and genders and we are here to use our platform voice to share them. We have to do better to support the black community and to make sure their voices are heard. 📍First and foremost, we are overdue for a black history ride and we are collecting stories now to piece this together as soon as we can. 📍Secondly, we need to host our rides (when we can safely host group tours again) in underserved communities. We will make this a reality and we hope you’ll support our efforts to do so by showing up with us when that time comes. 🔎But we need your help. We have begun research on the black history of LA and are seeking partners to help us learn what we don’t yet know. Introduce us to groups or individuals that have stories that need to be told. If you or someone you know would like to partner with us, please send us a DM. We are a volunteer organization and we can amplify voices when we work together. We are open to your ideas and thoughts. We are excited to announce a partnership with @picturingmexicanamerica that allows us to bring to life the rich Mexican-American history of Los Angeles through a series of self-guided bicycle tours beginning with ‘Daily Life of Early LA’ available now via our bio link. Covid has directly impacted our ability to do our organized group tours but it is also Covid that brought our two groups together. Until we can ride together again, we want to share stories of LA that aren’t often told. With the help of @picturingmexicanamerica, we bring to light the history of California through the eyes of the natives, immigrants and Mexicans that are an integral part of the city we know and love today. Our free, self-guided tours have a ‘download & print’ route guide as well as a SoundCloud audio guide and @ridewithgps link which gives turn by turn directions. Recent events surrounding racial equality, police brutality, systemic racism and social justice reminds us there are many untold stories waiting to be shared. These stories need to be shared as much as they need to be heard. The @losangelesexplorersclub is committing to you that we will build inclusive rides that share the history of all Angelenos and when we can organize group tours again, we will ride in underserved neighborhoods. Rumored to be Disney cottages and studio housing for nearby Warner Brothers, these adorable Period and Storybook style cottages are neither. The “Cinderella” cottages, as some have called them, were built in the 1950’s at the end of LA’s Period Revival. Each one has its own unique, fairytale architecture; each one with a chimney playing a prominent role in the design. You can find these beauties on Hollywood Way in Burbank. Kenneth Worthen Sr. designed the cottages although not a licensed architect. He passed away before they could be built but his designs were used throughout the area for many structures which includes this row of 9 cottages. Originally there was a row of at least 12 but development over the years removed a few. If you’re in the mood to do a thematic architecture tour, be sure to include the “Snow White” cottages off Griffith Park Blvd. If you have more details on these cute homes, please share!

These routes will have a downloadable route slip and audio guide for the points of interest. Keeping in mind Covid guidelines, our routes stick to one neighborhood and are a loop. Find one that’s convenient to your home. Practice social distancing. Wear a mask. All the good stuff. If you enjoy these self guided rides, please let us know so we can create more 👍🏽.
